Using your own SIP device with Vonage

In the UK www.vonage.co.uk says that you have to use their router, in the past many providers have said this, but you have been able to simply enter your account, password and their SIP Proxy. Does anyone have any experience of Vonage in the UK and using your own SIP device? Also, what

As far as I know, Vonmage don't let you have your SIP username or password. For portability, they let u have a secondary softphone account that you can use on ur laptop etc when travelling, but don't think the softphone carries the same unlimited dialling plan etc as the main a/c, i.e you have to pay per minute for every call you make from the softphone account. You could set this softphone a/c on a Sipura for instance, but it'll not give u the main a/c benefits.
