| Hello, I have a Vonage supplied router RT31p2 connected to "LINE" of SPA3000. The SPA3000 has a different voip provider and has firmware 3.1.7. I dial my vonage DID and try to access my SPA3000 (PSTN>VOIP) to make a voip call, the SPA does not see the PSTN # I am calling from. At same time, a caller ID connected to the FXS port of SPA3000 displays the PSTN# I am calling from. The problem the SPA is not answering. I have my PSTN# programmed in both the access list and the PSTN Pattern fields. Also, I set it to Auth with PIN. If I connect the SPA3000 directly to CO line, it answers and works fine. Any ideas? Thx for your assistance. |

| I tried that, it still won't respond. The Delay was 12 seconds, and I increased it to 16 seconds, and still it won't answer. I do not think the problem is in the Time Delay, simply, because if I locate the SPA behind a Verizon CO line, it responds fine. Similarly, when it is located behind a cable vision that has Voice service, it also responds normally. But, when it is located behind Vonage Router, that is connected to CableVision Modem, it wont respond, unless of course, I deleted all tel#s from PSTN Pattern and Access fields. So, it seems to me, the problem is caused by the connection to the Vonage router, but I do not know what it is. The mystry is compounded when I see the Vonage router is passing the ANI info to Caller ID behind it. I am lost. |

| Aha! It seems that your Vonage ATA might be outputting a weak or non-standard Ring Signal. If your SPA3000 does not properly identify the first incoming ring it will not be poised to capture the Caller ID when it comes through before the second ring. Try changing the Ring Waveform on the PSTN Line and see if this helps you catch the first ring.
