Default Fundamentals of VOIP Bridge Explained.

Most of the voip customer premise equipment (Cisco ATA 186, Grandstream ATA 286, Sipura SPA-2000, Motorola ATA, etc) sold or provided for free by the various and numerous voip service providers such as Vonage, AT&T, Time Warner, Packet8, etc do not provide any interconnect or bridge to the traditional cellular or landline networks. Moreover, most voip service providers only allow you to use the equipment they provide. Thus, users must use a separate handset to make and receive voip calls and they are restricted to using the voip service when at home or in the office.

SIPCPE products such as the FX-300 Analog Call Director and the
FX-300 GSM Call Director are accessory add-on products designed to provide a bridge or interconnect between the customer's voip hardware mentioned above and the traditional landline (analog) and cellular (GSM) networks respectively thereby enabling remote access to the customer's voip service. They also function as a two line switch so the user can both make and receive voip and traditional landline or cell calls from one handset.

As an Analog Bridge the FX-300 Analog Call Director interconnects your voip customer premise equipment with a landline (analog) line in your home or office to enable the use of your voip service from your mobile phone. Thus, through your landline, you can now both make voip calls from your cell phone and have your voip calls forwarded to your cell phone when you are out of the home or office. SIP CPE Sources Inc.
As a Cellular Bridge the FX-300 GSM Call Director interconnects your voip customer premise equipment directly with a cell network (GSM) to enable the use of your voip service from your mobile phone. As with the FX-300 Analog Call Director you can both make voip calls from your cell phone and have your voip calls forwarded to your cell phone when you are out of the home or office. However, the FX-300 GSM Call Director may offer substantial greater cost savings if your cell service provider offers free or reduced call charges for cell to cell calls on their network.
