There are new features being added to the Linksys/Sipura regularly. To use these features, a firmware upgrade is needed.
The latest firmware for your Sipura device is available at the Linksys website. The easiest method for upgrade is to run the executable file included in the archive downloaded from Sipura site.
If you are not on a Windows platform, the easiest way to upgrade is to use the spa.bin file included in the archive downloaded above. The SPA's built-in web server interface, in conjunction with a TFTP server , is used to activate the upgrade.
- If necessary, install a TFTP server on a PC on the same local subnet as the SPA (e.g. , you may use the free TFTP server software from solarwinds.net). Most Linux distributions include a TFTP server.
- Place the firmware upgrade "spa.bin" file in the TFTP root directory of the active TFTP server.
- Determine the IP address of the powered-up Sipura (IVR menu ****-110 - #).
- Request the upgrade from a web browser. If the TFTP server is running on the same computer:
- The SPA should then get the new firmware from the TFTP server and reboot.
