Default How much bandwidth do I need to support VoIP?

Bandwidth usage depends on the audio codec being used. Here are some typical bandwidth usage numbers based on the codec used:

Codec Nominal Bandwidth Usage (Kbps)
G.711 87.2
G.729 31.2
G.723.1 (6.4k sample) 21.9
G.723.1 (5.3k sample) 20.8
G.726-32 55.2
G.726-24 47.2
G.726-16 31.5
iLBC 27.7
For best voice quality, G.711 is recommended.

This is great, thank you. Could you also offer some advice on the advantage/disadvantage of each codec?
