Post Germany Alternate Phone Number

I'm looking for a VoIP provider in the US that can give me an alternate phone number in Germany so people there can call me as if I was there, therefore a local call for them. The idea is they call me to that German number and I can pick up my VoIP handset here. It would be also better if I can have the choice to forward the call to any other landline or even a mobile.

Thanks for any advice

You may get a free DID from www.sipgate.de. Please note: While creating your free account it's best to choose an actual German address, perhaps from your phone partner; German law seems to require that. If Sipgate has no local DID from the location in question you will get a 01801 number (local rates, or so called Ortstarif).
