Default VP no longer accepting new customers...

In an effort to comply with FCC rulings regarding implementation of E911 services, VP can no longer accept new customers it seems. They don't tell you this until the last page of the sign up process however....

I am amazed that there is no information on the internet about this. I made the unfortunate mistake of buying the router from voxilla and having it delivered on November 29. Then voicepulse doesn't admit they're not signing up anybody until after you've gone through 7 pages of entering information. I called and was told it would be "a few weeks." Now it's been 5 weeks and I'm still waiting after investing my money.

I tried the free month of Broadvoice and am dissatisfied with the quality of service. I'm starting to doubt whether I should sign up with Voicepulse, mostly because of the crappy doubletalk they're using rather than being up front about the fact that they're not signing up new customers. Does anyone have more information?

I had the same frustrating experience with Voicepulse. My neighbor uses it and I like the features they offer, but can't buy it. After the frustrating experience of working all the way through their sign-up process to be told that they aren't selling to anyone and then talking to someone at Voicepulse about it and getting basically a verbal shrug of the rep's shoulders ("Yeah, it was discussed at a meeting that the notice should be placed before the sign-up, but they decided to put it there because that's where the 911 information already was in the sign-up process.") I decided to order Packet8, the low-price, low-feature service my non-technical mom has been happy with for 6 months or so. I set her up with Packet8 because they were one of the few with numbers in her rate center and THEY have E911. I told the Voicepulse rep he should be reading the want ads because if they can't sell new service he's going to be unemployed soon.

Voicepulse started taking customers again on Monday, although the system won't be fully working until next week. Right now it will accept your registration, but will tell you your 911 address doesn't work. I tried quite a few addresses and none seemed to work. If I understood the CSR I spoke to, they are accepting all signups and not rejecting customers based on 911 availibility.
