Default What brand of phones work best?

Could someone here shed light on what cordless phones work best with the SPA 2000 & Voicepulse? Right now I have three phones to choose from (siemens 8825, 2420 and CyberGenie 2400) and they all had problems with Vonage and Voiceglo when it came to sending DTMF tones.

I have used a vtech 5.8 Ghz model without any problems. (model 5831) Then again most DTMF issues are encountered because of the codec you use and line quality issues.... and not generally the phone.

I ended up using my Siemens 8825 and so far no major complaints. DTMF seems to work ok but I've noticed a problem with distinctive ring not working. Using the vm service from Voicepulse I now get a visual icon on my cordless handsets and a button lights up on the desk station when new a new message arrives. This is a very handy because I'm able to program a 'mail' button to speed dial *123. The less buttons to push the better!

Thanks for your reply

Nick

The vtech phone I ended up purchasing at Best Buy (a Model 20-2431) works pretty well. It's a 2.4 Ghz "frequency hopping" device, which basically means that it notices when something else like Bluetooth or WLAN is using the spectrum and "gets out of the way." It also has a base unit that you can dial from, use as a speakerphone, or plug a headset into and use like a normal phone. It also includes a seperate message waiting indicator light for each line at the base, but not on the handset itself. You can even expand the system with additional handsets.

It was about twice what I was hoping to spend, though it's a pretty good phone.

Yes, the Siemens 8825 is very popular. Last of Siemens cordless offering from what I understand and no longer in production. If you need one or need a repair, try these guys; barclay Enterprises, inc. http://www.barclayent.com cheers
