| I'm part on an Italian company, and we are using from a while Asterisk (we are also developer on Asterisk) and VoIP provider here in Europe. We are expenading into the USA, and as initial need we need VoIP and DiD for our use. We initially sign up with Nufone and after some bad experience we sign up with Viatalk, since they mention they are trustable and they offer web and control panel for immediate access. We sign up for VTWhite, but my experience until now is horrible. Before signing up I open some pre-sales request and ticket and until now, after 1 wk is not yet followed up. After that I decide to give a try to the Control panel and the service since they mention immediate access and work, but even there, configuring Asterisk box as they want, the system do not work and the circuit is always busy. We also are using our Asterisk box behind a firewall and now seems they are not able to handle inconimng call if Asterisk is behind NAT. No one is taking care of ticketing or responsing to support. Same bad experience here? What can I do? Some suggestion? Some special configuration? In worst case should we send a revoke form for the credit card (since vtwhite ask for a form to bill the credit card for future usage of the service). Thanks in advance. |

| You got hit with 2 bad events: 1) The US VoIP company SunRocket crashed and burn this past 2 weeks and many of the 200k+ subscribers inundated ViaTalk as new residential customers. 2) VTWhite was designed for people that have some history with ViaTalk and/or read the ViaTalk forums on DSLReports.com and forums.viatalk.com. The reason why you are not getting a response for your pre-sale questions is due to the fact that everyone there is focused on trying to fulfill all the new orders from the SunRocket refuges. If you read the ViaTalk forum on DSLReports, you will see that there tech support is taking hours to respond to call-ins and days to respond to emailed/on-line tickets. Unfortunately, due to timing, you don't get your response from them in a timely fashion. As for VTWhite, forum members on both DSLReports and ViaTalk's own forum were informed that VTWhite will work with Asterisk systems only if they are not behind a NAT'ing router/firewall. Unfortunately, again, this fact does not appear on the VTWhite website. At least, I couldn't find it. If you are willing to wait another week and still want to try VTWhite, I would suggest you email: thedifference@viatalk.com That email address forwards to the management at ViaTalk. They are very receptive to input. I wouldn't suggest you complain. Instead, list what happened and when (especially the when). I'm sure Brendan will be able to help you out. See ya... d.c. |
