Default DO NOT Go To Via Talk

WARNING TO ALL.

Was trying to find a provider after the SunRocket explosion.

I just cancelled after receiving the adapter. It wouldn't work. If you can reach tech support... all calls take nearly 3 hours... they seem unable to solve issues.

Service never worked. Had less than two days. Being charged activation fees plus they are subtracting 50.00 from the 199 untill they get the adapter back...

Plus when I signed up they promised 6mo buyout. When I got account set up it was only 3 months.

Go the Teleblend way.. No fuss and everything works fine and it takes 5 mins if you are a current SR user. AND NO CRAPPY FEES.

The website says Teleblend is "Lauching Soon" so how can you comment on their service.

Hmmm, 1st post, I bet you work for Teleblend.

Smile Re: DO NOT Go To Via Talk

I've had good luck with VONAGE. I was a subscriber years ago when they were new. They had some tech problems (echo, dropped calls) early on, but, that has long since been remedied.
They have recently moved their customer service overseas, however, they try very hard to please and this makes up for the problems caused by language differences.
I went to VIA:TALK to save money; Big Mistake!
My brother went to SunRocket; Big Mistake!
We are both back at VONAGE.
Recommend Linksys adapter from 3rd party (ie. Staples.com) instead of Motorola from vonage.com site.
Your choice, both good adapters. Have heard more issues with Motorola.

Angry Re: DO NOT Go To Via Talk

I have to warn also to NOT go to ViaTalk. They are theives as far as I'm concerned. After the Sunrocket fiasco, we signed up with Viatalk in July. It is now the end of November and I never received the equipment but they charged us the $238+ for the year. By the end of August we needed a phone other than a cel. We went to voip.com (which I'm not thrilled with either) and had equipment within a week. Went to cancel the ViaTalk service. After a we received our next statement, the charge was not credited. Because at this time, even with their backups it was over the time period to file a dispute with the credit company so we are now out $238 and NEVER HAD THEIR SERVICE.

We've sent numerous emails to their company without response. Have not tried to contact them via phone in a while b/c it is always a long wait on the line and we've resigned ourselves to the fact that they took $238 for no service. We just need to watch them next year to make sure they don't try to charge the card again.

I would stay far far away. It may not seem like a whole lot of money, but considering I can get 12 weeks of hockey lessons and 12 weeks of Taekwondo lessons for my son with that amount....yes, it is a lot of money that I don't have to just charitably give to a company these days.
