    Hi all

    running CGP 5.1.3 and trying to get Communicator 2005 to authenticate against it..All I get is a not compatible error.

    Anyone got a howto or similar?

    Is the error comming from Communicator?

    Enable the SIP logging in Communigate and it should give you a better idea of why the client is failing.

    How is your Communigate authenticating users?
    We use a plugin for LDAP authentication from our Linux CGP server to our Windows active directory. This requires clear text logins (which we only do over SSL) but Communicator & Messenger 5.1 do not support that.

    I am still searching for a way to authenticate users against their Windows passwords that will be supported in SIP and XMPP clients.

    Messenger 5.1 works OK - get 1-1 video etc, but the communicator seems to use a different protocol, so doesn't work.

    Hopefully Stalker will be able to a licence from M$ now for the Communicator/Exchange protocols and implement this in CGP.

    Do Communicator & Messenger 5.1 support kerberos authentication? You could try configuring CGP to use that instead of LDAP.

    Hello;

    actually this is a known issue with the Communicator auth method. It is expecting an LCS server, and does other un-documented things in SIP that are not standards based. We are looking at support of Communicator for ver5.2, due in the Summer of 2007.

    Regards,

    Jon
