    Hi

I want to do the following:

    analogue telephone<->spa3102(172.19.15.80)<->ethernet switch<->fiber<->ethernet switch<->spa3102(172.19.15.70)<->telephone system<->outside

If i call from outside everything is working fine.
But when i call from inside to an external mobile telefphone i get some curious beep tones and then it says "line busy"

Ive attached the configs so that maybe someone could have a look at it and tell me what im doing wrong.

    Thank you very much

    Calling from 172.19.15.80 to 172.19.15.70

You are calling the PSTN Line Tab (sip port 5061). You should get a dial tone to dial on the PSTN Line attached to 172.19.15.70. You don't because:

    on 172.19.15.70
The on-hook voltage of the attached PSTN Line is -21v (see INFO Tab) and the Line In Use Setting is 30. You need to change the Line In Use Setting to a value about half way between the on hook and off hook readings (disregarding polarity) which will be less than -21v (probably about 14). The SPA3102 will not take the PSTN Line off hook if the current voltage reading is less than the Line In Use Setting.

Receiving an incoming call on the PSTN Line attached to 172.18.15.70 and ringing the phone attached to 172.19.15.80

    That should work OK.

    Hey, its me again :)

    Ive a little problem now.
We have to call a '0' to do a call to an outside number.
If i call the '0' on the phone connected to the SPA3102 i get a delay of about 3-4 seconds befor i get a dial tone.

How can i get rid of this delay?

    Thanks

I am not sure I completely understand the problem. Please post current configurations explaining where you are dialing from and where the 3-4 second delay is coming from.

Delays are usually caused by an interdigit dialing timeout.

Im dialing as explained in my first post.
At our company we have to dial a '0' to call to an outside number.
So e.g if i want to dial to 01234-56789 i have to call 001234-56789.

When i dial a '0' and hook up the telephone it lasts about 3 or 4 second before i hear a dial tone. After that i can call the outside number.

The problem is that we need an emergency line for our elevator, and this phone needs to call the outside number immediately. Otherwise it receive a timeout.

If I understand you correctly the distant SPA3102 dials 0 and then there is a wait to get a dial tone from the attached PSTN Line.

If that is correct, you can add the 0 to the dial plan in the home SPA3102 (S0<:0@ip_address: port>) and the distant SPA3102 will immediately dial the 0.

Maybe you need to add an entry in the UserID in the distant SPA3102, any userid that doesn't match the 0.

You also might speed things up slightly to tailor the (xx.) dial plan in the distant SPA3102 to just allow the 0 (S0<0>). Get it working otherwise first before trying this.

    Thanks for that.
Will try this tomorrow when im at work

If you dial other numbers in addition to just 0 then the above will not work. You wii have to design a more complex dial plan.

    Edit:
A more complex dial plan might be something like this
    (<#8:0>S0<:ip_address: port>|<#9:>S0<:userid@ip_address: port>)
Where dialing #8 the distant SPA3102 dials 0 on the FXO port
Where dialing #9 the distant SPA3102 returns a dial tone for the FXO port

ip_address is the ip address of the distant SPA3102
port is the sip port number of the PSTN Line tab of the distant SPA3102
userid is the UserID configured on the PSTN Line tab of the distant SPA3102

    Hi ChriK,

Any chance you could post all the settings needed to do this as I wish to do exactly the same thing. i.e. extend my analog system to another analog phone over Network.

I have 2x SPA3102's and want to get it happening.

Or if you have a link to where to research to set this up.

    Thanks for posting,

ChriK did post the complete configuration he was using, both adapters, in the first posting in this thread.

Greetings, I would like to use the SPA3102 to extend analogue line from PBX to another building using internal IP network as follows. Would be appreciated if someone could help me to configure the
SPA3102. (I could not download the config file above for reference). Thanks

    analogue telephone<->spa3102(172.19.15.80)<->ethernet switch<->fiber<->ethernet switch<->spa3102(172.19.15.70)<->telephone system (analogue line)
