| April 4, 2007 We have two 48CAs networked together with (3) incoming analog lines on Unit 1. All extensions on Unit 1 are TS-200s. Unit 2 has regular analog phones (ATT 959, Panasonic cordless, HP Fax, etc). All outbound calls from Unit 1 are A-OK. Outbound calls from Unit 2 get very strong echo - sometimes the echo is so strong we have to hang up and start again. We have set L1-L3 on Quietest; Local Extensions on Unit 2 to Quietest; Calibrated the lines - all as suggested by TalkSwitch support. They believe the echoes are coming from over amplification. The level of echo was not changed by any of these changes. We checked the network setting playback volume (using the TalkSwitch Terminal Window) and received normal settings. We have investigated this echo problem and have found other with the same issue: Echo on networked 48CAs I spoke with Paul Stenger - he said his Vonage VoIP line did not echo on either Unit 1 or 2. The echoes came from the Unit without the Analog Trunks attached. The problem was not resolved so he swapped back in the old Panasonic Key system. We would appreciate any assistance in solving this networked TalkSwitch 48CA echo problem. Mark Truhlar TruConnections Inc. |

| The echo occurs on all seven of Unit 2 local extensions on both inbound and outbout calls on the Verizon analog lines. This installation does not have any VoIP trunks (the system I referenced in my initial posting had echoes on the analog lines but not the Vonage VoIP line). Both sides of the call hear the echo in our setup. The calls are being made to land lines. From the TalkSwitch CDR data collected, here is more specific information about an outbound call that had echo for the first minute and then it cleared up for the remainder of the call: Type: Outbound Call Date/Time: 04/03/07 20:47 Duration: 00:04:35 Connection: E123 (using ATT 959 analog phone in Break Room) Phone number: a local call was made to a land line (Verizon service) Line: 101 ==> Unit 1, Line 1 Thanks, Mark |
