Default Using a regular phone for skype

Hello,

Can someone tell me if there is a way I can use a regular phone with a conventional jack for dialing out and receiving calls from Skype. Or is there a cable I can get to plug one end into the USB port and the other into a regular phone

Thanks
deep

We sell The Chat Cord, it allows you to talk and listen with a regular phone, but not dial.

Skype's terrible as it uses a proprietary protocol and won't release the details of it. There's a free software available though for windows that will create a skype to sip gateway. With asterisk you can have skype be like any other sip provider from from there you can use either FXS or ATA adapter to regular phones. The software is called Uplink Skype2Sip and is available here: Uplink Skype to SIP Adapter Software

Unfortunately this is only for Windows and you still need the skype software to run.

ciao,
