Ok Phoneboy: what do you think of this one?!!

Now, I know there is no comparison to having a Sipura setup with a service like FWD or IpKall, but this way one could consolidate calls from all directions, even from people that wants to use Skype!, they can skype you and the calls will be forwarded to any phone number you specify.

For anyone who has an unlimited plan with a SIP provider, this is still about two eurocents more per minute than with Call Forwarding.

On the positive side, Skype is apparently the first instant messaging service to offer this functionality. It's likely that Yahoo Messenger will be the next to add the service, owing to their recent purchase of Dialpad, and AIM and MSN Messenger will follow behind them.

It's a nice idea. It'd be nicer if Skype provided this functionality directly instead of requiring third party software to do it. Seems like there would be some extra latency with this method.

Skype has just released the first beta of call forwarding. It is lacks many of the call forwarding related features of other providers such as VoicePulse. Perhaps a future release will have a more complete feature set.

I'm interested in Skype because of their international virtual numbers, particularly French.

So far it takes 30 seconds to call a French virtual number and be call forwarded to a US cellphone. I assume this will be improved before 1.4 is publicly released.
