| Hi Can anyone tell me how you would route outbound calls from the SIPX server over VoIP. Would I need to connect an external gateway (eg Quintum) if so what type of connection is needed Cheers M |

| Yes, you just need some type of PSTN gateway. If you go to www.sipfoundry.org and select sipX wiki, you will find detailed instructions on how to connect several mfgs media gateways. Very easy. |

| I had the same question, but a little more detailed. I was curious of the best way to setup for multiple numbers each routed to seperate divisions (ie 555-1000 to the marketing 555-1100 to support, etc) And what was necessary to configure dial plans to the outside line? If there is one outside line avalable to the PSTN does that mean only one person would be able to make an outside call at once? Just trying to fit my needs before I have to back track. Thanks, Randolph |

| For each PSTN line you have equals the total of incomming and outgoing calls. What type of hardware are you using to connect to your PSTN. I use an MP108 and MP 118 (AudioCodes). For each indivudual incomming line I am able to send the call to a specific predetermined number. This is called a DID or Direct Inward Dial. Conversly anyone making outgoing calls can also be directed to a pool of ports on your gateway ie MP118 AudioCodes Gateway. If you have an 8 port analog gateway 4FXO and 4FXS then your four FXO's could ring to specific phones in your PBX dial plan. Then any outgoing calls could be directed to the 4 FXS ports. That is just an example and I don't recomend doing it specificly like that. If you have a larg organization you are better off going with a PRI T-1 than to use an FXO gateway.
