 Polycom - MWI is flashing though there are no messages Please help! There are no messages in my voice mail, but Message Wait Indicator is flashing. I can stop it by pushing "clean" button, but in about 30 min it starts flashing again.      |

| Re: Polycom - MWI is flashing though there are no messages We are experiencing the same thing on 501's and 550's. sip.ld 2.2.0.0047 with BootROM 3.2.3.0002 Watching the packet traces when the phone boots show no NOTIFY messages being received from the UAS. If you call into the voicemail server and check messages, the response is no new messages and no saved messages. When you hang up you receive the first NOTIFY with Voice-Message: 0/0 (0/0) in the SIP message body and the MWI light clears. In 2.1.1 Polycom 'added caching of the state of the message-waiting indicator LED across controlled reboots' per their release notes. But I have tested that when you unplug the network cable (a non-controlled event) thus causing the terminal to initial a network reset and re-registration, the MWI again flashes. And again without receiving a NOTIFY message. I am posting this additional information so I too can learn what is happening and what I can do to make this annoying issue go away. |
