| Howdy, (first post here) I've designed a system and implemented it in which I have remote lodges (300 miles from anywhere) that connect to a asterisk BE server in my office. The link went live on the Tachyon Network (which absolutley rocks so far and bandwidth is not a problem) I'm able to have the phone register / download the config (phone2200.cfg) and all that good stuff. The problem arrises when I try to dial out. I'm unable to have the phone connect to the server and initiate a call. I get a busy tone after a few seconds. (obviously some sort of timeout). The standard latency is around 1100ms-1250ms. I can however dial from my office to this remote phone and hold a perfectly clear non-jittery call. I'm not sure where to begin. My gut tells me the phone needs more time before a timeout status is reached when trying to initiate a call. Once in a blue moon when the latency is low enough I can initate a call but very rarley. I've heard about people changing the phones to TCP (but that doesn't sound all that helpful as resending packets gets scary on a high latency network) I've heard people talk about the QOS settings (not sure how that would help.) My understanding of all this asterisk and polycom stuff is growing but I'm by no means an expert so any help is appreciated Thanks. JKrynski |
