Default Polycom 501 Auto Answer

Hi, First off, I am not using Asterisk..I am using a Broadsoft platform. Where do you set the phone to auto answer when a call comes in on that line? My sip.cfg file is setup correctly, (I'm pretty sure). I can call the appropriate extension, but it just rings it doesn't auto answer. thanks

You get the phone to auto answer by putting the appropriate instruction in the SIP header of the incoming Call Request packet.

According to keefe007, the appropriate syntax for this tag for Polycom is "Call-Info:<sip:192.168.1.3>\; answer-after=0", replacing the IP address, of course, with the one associated with your own Polycom.

What? On a Cisco 7960 for example, you just manually turn on Auto Answer for the approriate line you want. Your telling me to change the SIP header. I don't think that's correct. It may be already done via the Broadsoft switch, but I don't think I 'tweak' any SIP headers. There has to be a way to turn a particular line to auto answer on the phone itself.

mberlant is correct. You have to modify your dial plan and sip.cfg file. Take a look at this thread:
