I have several new 430s we put into service and they all 'ring' silent. The call light flashes and the line indicator has the musical note animation. But there is no sound or ring. Calls can be answered fine. The ring type is set to "2" low trill from sip.cfg and I verified it is set that way on the phone. We use Asterisk as the VOIP backend. We also have 501s and 601s in service and they work fine. Has anyone had this issue and if so, resolved it?

Ok so 30+ people have look at this post... Can anyone at least confirm that they have 430s working properly in there environment? and if so, would you be willing to share your sip.cfg settings? Thanks

Please share... we had the same issue and the trace showed that the packet data for the ring stream was empty/corrupt. But it seemed to be related to our NAT issues.

This was a "ring type" setting that got set via a config file. SO any call from 1 particular extension had a ring type of "1" or silent. It was a mistyped entry in an attempt to setup some distinctive rings. But the distinctive ring ended up being "Silent", and that was the phone I was testing from so i thought the 430s that i was calling TO had a ring issue, rather it was working as programmed from that phone but with a silent ring. Change the ring...and naturally problem was solved.
