Default Help with Polycom 650

Hi Everybody,

I am new to this but looking desperately for help. I have recently order the GXE 5024 the new IP Pbx from grandstream to use with polycom phones.
I have two major problem with the system.

1) I never can set the time for the polycom phones, even thought I set the sntp server to time.windows.com and my Gmt offset to -5 I always have the time displayed on the phone 6 hours ahead the real time.

2) When a call is transfered from one extension to another the receive party has to press hold and press resume in order to hear, otherwise the counter keeps working but no sound out of the ear piece.

Can anyone please give me any Idea why I have up listed problems

Thank you..

Hi,

re your time server problem - I would recommend that you use a pool ntp server address as opposed to the Microsoft one you listed - you can find out more here:
http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Servers/NTPPoolServers

You may also need to ensure that your firewall is not blocking the ntp traffic.

I normally try and get the local IP PBX working as a local timeserver (if it has the ability to do that) so the IP PBX gets a an accurate time from external ntp server(s); and all the phones just get their time from the IP PBX - which acts as a local ntp server.

Good Luck.
