| Hi, I purchased polycom 500 on ebay, found files to download bootrom and sip......zip 1.6.6 and had the most difficult time setting up the configuration. I finally got the polycom 500 to access the bootrom via ftp but now i cannot get it to register. What needs to be input in the web interface to register, as the display on the phone says Line 1 not registered. Or do I need something specified in my .cfg file somewhere. Also, I do not have a main.cfg if there is actually such as a file . I read this on one of the sites while looking for clues to help me with the entire configuration process. Any help accepted... In *, here is sip show peers: *CLI> sip show peers Name/username Host Dyn Nat ACL Port Status 31004 (Unspecified) D N 0 UNKNOWN |

| How are you using the phone? Will it connect directly to Asterisk box on same local network, connect to remote Asterisk box, or connect directly to ITSP? You may be having firewall issues, or not. Hard to tell, need much more information on your setup. It sounds like you may need a little better understanding of how the Polycom's are/can be configured. I highly suggest you look here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/A...r+7#722Polycom Though it is geared towards AAH/Trixbox, it has very good information for any Asterisk installation. You can configure the Polycom via web page or cfg files. The web page setup is limited, i.e. not all options can be configured. Setting up your cfg files on a ftp/tfpt server is actually quite easy. In addition to the bootrom and sip application files, you have the following files: phone1.cfg sip.cfg 000000000000.cfg 000000000000-directory~.xml Once you set up one, the rest are extremely easy. |
