| To enable presence, look in the sip.cfg file for the feature.* options. You may see this: feature.1.name="presence" feature.1.enabled="0" feature.2.name="messaging" feature.2.enabled="0" If those items are both set to "0" (disabled) as above, you will need to set them to "1" (enabled) for buddy watching to work. These options defaulted to "1" in SIP 1.4 and earlier and to "0" in SIP 1.5 and later. |

| Thanks for the reply, but my presence & messaging is already on. As mentioned above, when the phone boots, it displays the contacts/buddys on lines 2,3,4 but automatically puts their states as 'Away' with the clock icon and the red lines flash. Presence seems to be enabled on the phone, but for some reason Asterisk and the polycom can't agree on the states of the users. Quote:

| Hi, I have a polycom SP601 with a console. I had this working fine with body watch with sip ver. 1.6.6. Upgraded to SIP 2.0.1 and bootrom 3.2.2 recently released to enable more then 12 buddy watch on the phone. And guess what it is not working at all now. I have buddy icon present on the screen but it is not showing when peer is busy or not. I have: feature.1.name="presence" feature.1.enabled="1" feature.2.name="messaging" feature.2.enabled="1" Asterisk is sending to the phone “presence” messages. I can see them through debug. Did somebody have to deal with this problem ? |
