| Has anyone successfully connected a PhoneGnome to an Intertex IX67? I've just moved my PhoneGnome behind an IX67 FW GW (firewall/router with FXS-FXO ports) but I can't get incoming audio when making/receiving PG-to-PG calls -- i.e. I cannot hear the other party, although the other party can hear me all right. Initially, I couldn't make calls from the PG via my ITSP neither, but that problem was apparently solved by activating the [Disable change to TCP (large messages)] switch in the IX67. (The IX67's excellent built-in help briefly explains this switch as: "According to the SIP standard, a proxy should change protocol from UDP to TCP if message size is greater than 1300 bytes. With this setting you can disable this behaviour if you have SIP devices only supporting UDP.") Is such the case with PhoneGnome, that it supports only UDP? Are there any 'conflicting' or 'incompatible' settings between the PhoneGnome and the IX67 in their implementations and/or support of the SIP standard? How do I get incoming audio on PG-to-PG calls behind an IX67? Any ideas, workarounds or solution I can try? Many thanks in advance. |

| Please contact PhoneGnome support and tell them that you are having trouble getting your PG working behind a "SIP aware router". They should be able to tell you what to do to force the PG to disable its own NAT awareness and STUN support.

| Have reported the problem via e-mail to both PhoneGnome and Intertex, but have not heard a word nor acknowledgement from PhoneGnome. On the other hand, I got a response from Intertex and I was advised to set the following in the IX67 SIP Advanced settings:
I'm really impressed with the Intertex user support (thanks, Rolf) and the capabilities of the IX67 to accomodate seemingly 'disparate' devices. Now, I'm so glad that I've got the PhoneGnome working behind the IX67. |
