I setup a SIP extension on pbxes.com to my phonegnome. I cannot seem to get make any calls to the phonegnome extension though. I have looked through the pbxes.com forum carefully, and I have found several posts that discuss sip problems because of codec incompatibility. What codec does the phonegnome work with and how can I make it work with pbxes.com. TIA

You might need someone more familiar pbxes.com but after taking a quick look, it appears to us that you want to setup the SoftGnome account as a 'SIP Trunk' not an 'Extension' and then apply a dialplan or prefix to direct calls to the SoftGnome account (Trunk). You would need another softclient or ATA to register to pbxes.com as an 'extension' . We suggest starting with the G711 codec - that tends to be the most interoperable/compatible. Then once you get that working, you can try others.

Thanks for the reply. I have set up the softgnome account and used as a trunk before. I was able to successfully place calls via my phonegnome by using my softgnome as a trunk on pbxes.com. I will look at it again, and see if I can make it work with a dialplan or prefix that will ring my phonegnome. I will post back when I find a successful configuration.

I was able to place calls to my phonegnome through pbxes.com. I setup the phonegnome softgnome as a trunk, and set it as the outbound trunk to be used when I dialed my phonegnome number. I am still curious why I can't dial my phonegnome via SIP with pbxes.com, but using the softphone account as trunk works fine for now. Thanks for your help.
