Default Inbound PSTN calls to IPKall number?

Can I use PhoneGnome to receive inbound PSTN calls to my IPKall number which is attached to my FWD account?

Based upon what I've seen in this forum, you don't appear to be able to use PhoneGnome to accept inbound FWD calls. However, based upon what I saw in the post at http://voxilla.com/PNphpBB2-viewtopic-t-4720.html , PhoneGnome does appear to allow inbound "SIP URI" calls, if you go though their SIP proxy. So IN THEORY at least, you should be able to log into your IPKall.com account, and redirect your IPKall number from FWD to the PhoneGnome proxy (i.e. send the call to xxxxxxxxxxx@sip.phonegnome.com; where xxxxxxxxxxx is whatever number your PhoneGnome adapter registered itself with). This should work "in theory", as IPKall is supposed to work with any open proxy, and PhoneGnome is supposed to allow inbound calls via their SIP proxy.

However, this is all just "theory" at this point, as I don't have a PhoneGnome to test with (I use an unlocked SPA3000 as my VoIP adapter). So there is no guarantee that this would work. But if you do own a PhoneGnome, the "test" is probably worth a try, to see if this apporach will work to allow your IPKall.com calls to ring your PhoneGnome...

Inbound and outbound calls are possible from/to PhoneGnome (PG) and FWD, as they have peering in place.

PG to FWD: **393<FWD_nbr>
FWD to PG: **742<PhoneGnome_nbr>

Yes, after trying it out I can confirm that it *actually* works!

I went to change my IPKall parameters to point to my PG number and to the PG SIP proxy. About an hour or so after I made the change, I had someone call my IPKall number -- and the call rang and got through my PhoneGnome.

Thanks again.
