A factory-shipped PhoneGnome has specific customizatiions and cannot be converted into the exact same thing as a generic SPA3000. That said, it would be possible to make it more like an SPA-3000 for your situation, but currently that kind of "retrograde" is not part of our plans. We plan to do the opposite at some point, allowing people to upgrade their generic SPA3000 with PhoneGnome cababilties, in order to get the exact benefits you describe above.

I would like to buy a PG device. But I would feel a lot better doing that if I have the option of just 'making' it into a SPA-3k device later if I needed to for some reason. I bought an SPA-3k device earlier this year to install in India. It took me a few days of reading and playing around with to configure it. So this does provide that ease of use to forego that. I am a technical person but sometimes I can't afford the time required for these complex setups. But if I needed a certain feature which PG didn't support(I assure you there are going to be some) and I had the time, I might want to be able to 'convert' it back to the original(SPA) device. I think you should provide the technical users the option of requesting an unlock code upon request. I wouldn't mind paying a small 'unlock fee' of $5 or $10. Anything more I would probably balk at. For starters as someone posted you don't support BV which would be nice to add.

Hi, I have the same request of ashinusa, I am also a technical person for the portuguese market with the same problems: "I can't afford the time required for these complex setups". Don´t have time to 'convert' it back to the original(SPA) device. Pay for a Unlock key, its a excellent idea. Best Regards, Paulo Gomes
