Default VOIPSTUNT & CORPORATE FIREWALL?

i'd like to give this new service a try...
unfortunately our corporate proxy only allows http connections on port 8000.

what steps must i take in order to get this service work (tcp protocol only on specific port?)

You will need to get your corporate IT department to open up the firewall to allow outbound connections on UDP 5060 and UDP 16384-16482 (this latter range will work with Sipura devices and most others).

Most devices, softphones and service providers cannot be made to work on any TCP port, much less port 8000.

any known cyber attacks possible on UDP voip ports?
i.e. any security measures that should be taken inside the LAN?

I would start by studying how TCP/IP works. Your corporate IT department should be able to point you in the right direction. One of the things that is important to remember is that when you originate a session from within your LAN to the public internet only packets that have been invited in will be let through in the return path. Unsolicited inbound packets will be rejected by the router/firewall.
