| | New provider -- free US DID and incoming Hey gang,
Got wind of this from the comp.dcom.voice-over-ip newsgroup. New (?) provider offering free incoming and a US did. They have a ton of area codes too! URL is http://www.voicestick.com. Go sign up and buy something so they don't stop the free DID's!

| | RE: New provider -- free US DID and incoming well, free DID is good - but do they support standard SIP devices (ATAs or X-Lite softphone) or I have to use their VoiceStick device/softphone? If I can't plug the incoming number into my ATA - it's pretty useless to me!
What I did like is their i2Bridge option which is what I was missing in Voxalot's WebCall plan... ability to call from cell or office and "strap" the call to outgoing VoIP service. |

| | RE: New provider -- free US DID and incoming Registered about 24 hours ago, but no email received yet about my password. I'm starting to worry since they have my credit card number.
I hope this is not a scam. |

| | RE: New provider -- free US DID and incoming I signed up a month ago and used just the SJ Labs supplied soft phone, works great. THen for $29 I bought their Micro Gate ATA, works fine. My tech buddy is using the Cisco ATA, works great.
BUT the big thing I use it for. It has a cellular bridge. I signed up for Sprint. Got Sprint to Home. All calls to or from my "HOME" number are free. So I set the VoiceStick as my home number with Sprint and put the cell number into the bridge.
Now all of my calls go in and out over VOIP and Sprint does not bill minutes as all these calls are to my "home" number.
BTW, no credit card problems. Tech supprt was great as I had made a stupid mistake at first. |

(Looking at the logs I think we can determine the credentials anyway) |

| | Re: RE: New provider -- free US DID and incoming what settings did you use to get voicestick working with your ATA?
I'm trying to get it working with a Linksys PAP2. Quote: |

| | RE: Re: RE: New provider -- free US DID and incoming it looks like free incoming really only means free within voicestick. any calls related to PSTN in or out get charged Quote:
5. TOLLS. Every call to or from Equipment using the Services that originates or terminates in the
Public Switched Telephone Network ("PSTN") is subject to the then applicable toll charges that are associated with the Plan. The duration of each call is to be calculated in one (1) minute increments and rounded up to the nearest minute for partial minute calls. The minimum call duration is one (1) minute for PSTN calls. A call is considered complete if answered, including any automated device, or if unanswered rings exceed 10 rings.

the call bridge is a great feature and is similar to asterisk DISA. |

| | RE: Re: RE: New provider -- free US DID and incoming I assume that is just boiler plate. I set up a soft phone as an extra line here in the house for my blaber mouth 12 year old boy (I can't believe how many girls call him!)
He was tying up the family phone for HOURS playing some on line game and using the phone. I set him up with a VoiceStick number, and did not deposit any money which automaticaly keeps him from calling out. He can only take incoming calls. THere is no charge for incoming. I see the call log, and next each call is 0.00 on the cost colum.
So now my 12 yr old is the big man, has his own phone number and voice mail, and I don't pay a cent!
Now if I could only get his room clean! |
