Karachi DIDs
Looking for Karachi, Pakistan DID, only found on didww and thats quite expensive.
The VirtualPhoneLine guys announced the same on $6.99, but they don't have it for Karachi anymore.
Please advise other providers as well.
Thanks once again for your help.

Re: Karachi DIDs
thanks for your reply.
I checked them, they do not have it for karachi, but they do have it for Hyderabad.
One quick question. they mentioned that DID have 0 channels.
what does that mean?
Also I do have a SIP phone from Gizmo project. which is 1747xxxxxxx@proxy01.sipphone.com
I just need to ask the DID provider to forward that DID to this sip uri correct?
I was talking to one provider and he told me that you need the softswitch, I thought maybe I am confused and not understanding the correct concept.
Please advise.

Once you purchase a DID and login to your account, you can specify your above Gizmo SIP URI as destination.
BTW, I purchased a Gujrat DID but it didn't work for me because PTCL doesn't allow people to call that series (200 & 201 for Gujrat); you can call from any mobile though. So before you buy any DID make sure it works from your city. CallWithUs support says, they can't do anything about it, because it's not a problem at their end, it's the PTCL that is showing its monopoly.

Re: Karachi DIDs
Whre does it say 0 Channels?.. that means nothing. As far as I know, all CallwithUs DIDs come with 2 channels, which lets you have 2 conversations at the same time... i.e receive a call from Party A on the DID... then... if Party B calls you can put A on hold and take B... or join them in a conference. A 3rd call would either get busy or VoiceMail depending on your setup.

Re: Karachi DIDs
They *should* have them in a couple of weeks... though I've been waiting for over month on that promise. Keep in mind... depending on your location, having a Pakistani DID is more a convience than a monet saver. Calls from Mobilink/UFone etc to the USA/UK/Europse are like 2-3 rupees/minute anyway...
