Default halfprice telecom

Has anyone ever heard about www.halfpricetelecom.com , I want to create an account with them because they have a pretty attractive calling plan i.e unlimited calling in 24 countries for $25.. they seem to have a pretty responsive customer service though.. Just wanted to make sure before buying their plan if anyone has tried their service? On top of $25 monthly fee they require approx $25 activation charges as well

Default RE: halfprice telecom

DO NOT SIGNUP TO THEM!! I made that mistake! I thought it is cheap and sounds good. But it was a horrible ordeal. The sound quality sucks. every morning and evening I needed to reboot my modem because it got screwed up and noone was able to get through. When people dialed my number they sometimes got a fax line; and I do not have a fax line or machine. Half the time you can not dial out. It gave me a fast busy signal. The customer service was horrific. They blamed everything on everyone else, and each time they did, I had to show them it was their issue. I even had them call my line and they received a fax sound. They said disconnect your fax, it is not compatiable with our system. I told them i do not have a fax! They were stumped. I was getting the run around and it was just not worth it!! try vonage or callvanatge, i had better luck with them. Vonage is 24.99 and they are a reputable company. Good luck!
