| I am looking for the following budget solution: to get an inbound 8xx “toll-free” number and have it forwarded to my cell phone in Canada (area code 519). In other words, if any one from the US calls that 8xx number, he/she will reach my cell phone. As see it, one possible solution would be to get a SIP “toll-free” 8xx number and forward it via PSTN using my local home landline number with help of Sipura 3000. On the other hand, there might be companies that provide both inexpensive “toll-free” numbers and forwarding service, so that I would not need any equipment on my side at all. |

| Many US cellular providers offer unlimited calling either between all of the phones on your account or between all phones subscribed to that provider for a few dollars additional each month. It is likely that some Canadian providers offer this same service.

| One thing you have to evaluate is any incoming per minute charge on the toll free number vs the amount of traffic you expect. Two other companies that have toll free numbers, Exgn and Canadian company les.net. Les.net says they can direct incoming from the number to any phone in the U.S. or Canada. If you find a company with a toll free service you like, you can probably figure out how to forward the call to your cell phone if the provider doesn't offer that service. |
