| I saw an ad on Voxilla for Acanac-Inc (https://www.acanac.com) offering unlimited residential dial-plan for just US$8.95 (inclusive all taxes) for a one year BOYD prepaid subscription. The way I understood it is all they will charge you for a full year service is US$ 107.4. It looks like this is a DSL company that offers its service in Toronto and Montreal. They also offer VoIP service for U.S. and Canada. There monthly rate is CAD$18.95 (which is still competitive). I usually feel uncomfortable subscribing for a long period especially for a fragile service like VoIP. However, I am tempted to use them with this much discounted rate. I know it is a risk but life is all about risks “smile”. The way I read their website is not to expect much technical support using telephone. Big deal, most of discounted VoIP providers don’t want to hear your voice. They prefer you communicate with them through emails. Did anyone out there use them? What is your experience? How was the quality of the VoIP service? |

| Here is something I discovered when I tried to subscribe. They have very limited U.S. numbers. It's website shows a lot of cities and area codes that they cover in the U.S. When you order, you end up that they don't carry the desired area code. I understand their intention not to stock up numbers that they don't need. However, they should have the flexibility of supplying you with the required area code when needed. |
