Default Zoom 5801 mini-review

  • voip->FXO bridging not supported
  • FXO->voip is 2-stage dialing only, 1-stage is not supported
  • about half the web interface help menus are empty.
  • most of the device is completely undocumented, even in the "service provider/isp" documentation.

if you are thinking of buying a 5801 to use as FXO gateway right now, don't.

maybe in a future firmware revision Zoom will fix these problems.

Default RE: Zoom 5801 mini-review

Zoom shipped me one of those a day or so ago, I'm still waiting for it to reach my secret lair. I've had a look at the service provider documentation, which mostly just goes over provisioning.

I'm interest in this Zoom 5801 ATA too. Can anyone tell me if the power adaptor supplied is a 110V onlt or a universial 110 - 240 V? Thanks a lot!

In case you are still interested, I can tell you about that later today.

But in the meantime, does anyone know how to get it work with sipgate?

I can receive calls but not dial.
