Re: Is this zingotel adapter vendor locked? Hey McQuaid,
First off, I do not represent my employer or any of its affiliates whilst typing this entry or subsequent entries regarding.
I have also purchased the Zingotel adapter, mainly out of the same curiosity, which is a Linksys/Sipura 2100. No it isn't provider locked.
But here's the catch. In order for you to be able to purchase it in store, you first need to sign up for the service. Which then gives us something to enter on our receipts. And, in turn, allows Zingotel to know when units have been sold, etc.
It is all tied to MAC addresses, and If you cancel your service, you are supposed to give them back.
Well anyways, you could if you want run another voip service on line 2, or even line 1. The menus are hidden, until you use a handy configurator like the one at voxilla.
Hope that helped,
