UTSTARCOM F3000 Firmware

Is there anyway to know what the current level of the UTSTARCOM F3000 phone? I have version 5.9 and I am hopping that the future version fixes some of the nagging problems the phone still have. I don't know why UTSTARCOM does not post the current version of their firmware. The phone overall works pretty good.

5.9st is the most recent production firmware for the F3000. What problem are you having with the phone?

Some of the problems experienced are:

- Problem:
If I leave the phone connected without using it for several hours, say overnight then sometime I initiate a phone call with nothing happening (i.e. Dialing... but no tone nothing for example *86 at Broadvoice should give me an answer right away)
Resolution: turn the phone off and then back on solves the problem

- Problem:
Sometime the phone hangs with a gray screen. Nothing will work not even power off.
Resolution: Take the battery off and back on solves the problem.

- Problem:
Does not connect properly with all wireless router brands in all security modes. Example are Netgear WPN824 Range max routers.
Seemed to work in WPA mode but has problem with both Open & WEP. It is a lot more picky then a laptop. I am now using a Linksys router but it is a problem on the road. I could reproduce the problem if you are interested.

These are the ones I am remembering while typing this note.

One complaint is how do I know when a new firmware is available?

I do appreciate you responding a great deal and I really like this phone. I have a vested interest in solving some of these little things since I use this phone on travel.

The only feature I would like enhanced is getting multiple SIP like Broadvoice & FWD at the same time. I understand this is a memory issue. Can the phone be upgraded with more memory?

The gray screen trouble that you see seems like a crash - the 5.9 release should not do that. After upgrading to 5.9, did you reset the phone (menu - wifi - reset all - 888888/password)? That could be the trouble. The other possibility is that something did not fully write during the upgrade and there are a few misplaced bytes in the software - which would cause a crash if the running software came across those memory locations. You may want to try to reload 5.9st if a SIP/WiFi reset does not help.

As far as having multiple SIP profiles active at once, versus having three stored but one active, there is no plan to change that.
