I had input the information that I could into the dvg-g1402s. Comcast is my ISP and the dvg is configured to use dhcp so dns information could not be entered on dvg. I could not input registrar infomation either.
here is the list of information that broadvoice had given me.
primary_dns_ip: 147.135.0.6 (dvg-g1402s does not have this)
secondary_dns_ip: 147.135.8.6 (dvg-g1402s does not have this)
proxy_ip: proxy.nyc.broadvoice.com
proxy_port: 5060
registrar_ip: sip.broadvoice.com (dvg-g1402s does not have this)
registrar_port: 5060 (dvg-g1402s does not have this)
phone_number: xxxxxxxxxx
auth_id: xxxxxxxxxx
auth_password: xxxxxxxxxx
tftp_ip: config.broadvoice.com (dvg-g1402s does not have this)
ntp_ip: ntp.nasa.gov
DTMF: InBand
registration_time_out: 10_seconds (dvg-g1402s does not have this)
voice_mail_key: *86 (dvg-g1402s does not have this)
time_zone: GMT-05:00 (dvg-g1402s does not have this)
I am not sure if something needs to be different on the broadvoice side.
I configured the dvg-g1402s with sipphone service and it works with sipphone service. But I would like to use Broadvice because I can get a local number in my area.
The difference between the two service I noticed was that the sipphone had stun server and broadvoice did not give me configuration for stun server. |
I am not a Broadvoice user so this is a shot in the dark but derived from hours of tweaking 1402s
Try the following
Assuming you have CODEC set to a correct value, which is not apparent from Broadvoice info. You can always use g711 or G729
under SIP CONFIGURATION/SERVER
Domain Name:sip.broadvoice.com
Service Domain:sip.broadvoice.com
Alternatively, if that does not work, try proxy.nyc.broadvoice.com
in both places. As a last resort, mix-n-match the above values. It is only 8 combos before you get it right.
The only other values that may need attention are INITIAL UNREGISTER and USER PARAMETER PHONE
Your softphone needed Stun or Proxy as it was behind the router
If your router is connected directly to cable modem you will not need either
Let me know how this works
