I ran into this issue yesterday while trying to configure an IConnectHere account as Proxy 1. I had disabled the Default Proxy (which was configured FWD at the time) so when I dialed the number I though it would use Proxy 1 automatically.
Not so! It gave me "Call not approved" error everytime I tried to dial. First, I though I misconfigured something in the proxy. But, the diagnostic log of X-Lite did not show any attempt to dial the number.
I did search on Google and saw a lot of users asking about this but mostly getting no resolution to their problem. One message in another user forum mentioned that it was X-Lite limitation and only Default Proxy profile could work. So, I copied all settings from Proxy 1 to Default and disable Proxy 1 and Enabled Default Proxy again and I could call out. It still it did not convince me why would the developer provide all those proxies enabled in code when only one could be used...
Today, when I was preparing to report above finding I accidentally discovered that you can in fact easily use all enabled proxies (i.e. configured VOIP accounts). Here is how:
If you would like to use any proxy beside "Default" you must prefix the number with #n where n is the proxy number in X-Lite setup. For example, if FWD is on Proxy 1, the number to call for echo test number (613) is:
#1613
I hope this helps someone that has faced or may face this issue in the future
