| | PAP2 - on my third one, web interface questions Just got my third PAP2 online with Vonage.
The first one had the reported "hum" that was too much to bear, so it went back. The second could not connect to Vonage, despite 2 hours on the phone with tech support.
The third connected, and has only a fraction of the "hum" that the first one had. So it's working for now.
One question - of all 3 units, only the second one had the web interface at http://{IP}. Is the web UI supposed to be there? If not, that may explain why the second one never connected - it was not a "default" configuration. Might it be enabled somehow or on a different port on my unit?
Thanks. |

| | It might be, but my guess is Vonage disabled all that stuff.

| | I figured as much - they mystery is why the second PAP2 I got - which, like the other 2, was shrink wrapped and grabbed direct from the BestBuy shelves - HAD the web UI enabled. And probably not coincidentally, it couldn't connect to Vonage. It seemed to NOT be configured for Vonage, despite the Vonage packaging, etc.
Also probably not coincidentally, it had a MUCH higher serial number than any of the other PAP2's on the shelf (yes, I picked through all 20 or so).
Very strange. |

| | That should be considered as Cheating VONAGE & Linksys are cheating customers. No one said that I could not configure other SIP provider. Since I bought that sh** I guess I'll eat it 'cause I brought it to Venezuela and there is no Vonage fuc**** service in here.
Can some bastard from Linksys respond to this?
I GOT NO WEB.BASED UI TO CONFIGURE MY GOD DAMN PAP2. WHAT A WASTE, SCREW 'EM ALL. |

| | RE: That should be considered as Cheating Vonage can be used ANYWHERE. Vonage don't share their SIP credentials. However, as long as u have an american credit card and address, you should be able to call Vonage and get ur service activated, wherever you maybe physically located. Shouting and screaming won't help, certainly not at the voxilla forums cos they got nothing to do with either vonage OR linksys.

| | RE: That should be considered as Cheating The PAP2s are locked to the service provider that is printed on the box you bought it. Linksys won't allow them to be sold "unlocked," though a few unlocked ones slipped out early on, and Voxilla managed to get a couple, as did several other people. Linksys won't unlock them, neither will Vonage to my knowledge.
I understand the PAP2s are an exceptional deal, but for just a couple bucks more you can get an unbranded, totally unlocked device from Voxilla and a few other places.
