Default Opinions on SPA941, Aastra 9133i, GXP2000

Hello All.

I am looking for some phones in the $100-150 range. I've found these phones, but am having a HARD time coming up with good reviews on them.

Has anyone worked with them all and if so, which would you prefer? How is sound quality for all? Button interface? Web configuration?

I am going to be using them with an asterisk setup for a small office of around 10 phones. I'd like somethign that has a good feel and great sound. Speakerphones aren't necessary.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

All of the phones you are considering work directly with Asterisk.

We have a lot more direct experience with the Linksys and Grandstream models as we carry those on the Voxilla Store, though we've used the Aastras and thinks they are excellent phones as well.

Most of the desktops at our office have SPA941s on them, primarily because they are by far the easiest to configure. Voice quality on these is quite good (though, of course, your network will have greater impact on voice quality than the hardware).

Once you set up extensions on the Asterisk side, adding a SPA941 takes about 30 seconds, including reboot time. As to the settings you need to make it work, there are plenty of threads about this on this forum.

Thanks for the reply Marcello.

I've heard the SPA-941 is a good phone, however it's a little on the high side of the non-profit price scale. I am using asterisk and ATA-s right now, but it's time to graduate to real phones where users don't have to remember feature codes (I don't know how many times I've heard "how do I <insert feature here>???)

Anyway, I've heard the grandsreams can cause echo issues, but are a good budget phone. I've seen some good deals on the Aastra phones in the $120 range and they don't assume all places have $400 POE switches and include the power adapter.

I am a little hesitant to go with another Linksys/sipura as the 841 that we tried out a while ago sounds terrible, reboots randomly and in general is worthless.

Aynway, thanks for the response. I look forward to hearing more!
