My opinion is that your web site sucks and you need to be more subtle when advertising on public forums.

What makes you think that Amer is an owner (or even an employee) of AddPac? AddPac is clearly a Korean firm and Amer Hamid sounds like an Arabic name to me. Amer has been an active participant in the forums here and my belief is that he is making an honorable request for information and opinion.

I would have answered his direct question already, but have not had the time to look over AddPac's product line. So, I'll do that now.

================

Amer,

The entire AddPac line appears to be commercial grade VoIP equipment, as compared to the Sipura product line's place in the SOHO market. If you'll forgive me comparing the two specific products you asked about to Sipura models, I think this will make the descriptions clearer.

The AP160 looks like an SPA-1000 with a built-in dial-up modem and PPP client functions. Like many other commercial grade products, you configure it via an RS-232C serial interface and not via a web interface. This allows for greater security, since users generally do not have access to the physical unit in a commercial installation. There is QoS functionality built in, presumably useful if the connection is over a private network.

The AP200-B looks like an SPA-2100 with a lifeline cut through telephone jack for connection to a PSTN Line during a power failure. Like the other devices in the product line, it is commercial grade and offers deeper and finer levels of management than do SOHO quality products.

I don't have any opinion on reliability or price/value. I hope this has helped you. Perhaps there is someone here who has more comprehensive information.

Michael

micheal,

thanx a lot for the time you have spend to look into the product and write a review for me. i appreciate it.

got 2 questions for you if you can spare some time:

1. do you think AP160 can work with multiple service providers at same time?

2. can u suggest me an all in one unit for broadband with following features:
- built-in adsl moden/router with atleast 4 port (RJ45) switch
- wireless access point
- atleast one voip (RJ11) port to make/receive voip calls
- allow multiple service provideers/gateways for voip calling like the SPA3000 do
- Allow make/recevie calls through PSTN
- very important: QOS for voice or priority for voice traffic when there is traffic on voip port

currently i have SPA3000 and very happy with its performance but as long as its the only device using whole bandwidht ( i have adsl 128up/192 down). if same time another computer is taking a part from bandwidth the voice becomes choppy and really cant invest in bandwidth anymore coz its very expensive in middleeast area.

thanx once again.
