 Need Help With ATA 186 Firmware Upgrade from MGCP to SIP
Hi, I am trying to update the firmware on my Cisco ATA 186. It is currently setup with MGCP and I need it to run SIP. I was fortunate enough to obtain the newest atasip 3.2 firmware file from a kind Cisco user, and now I just need to manually perform the install. My online research indicates that I probably need to set up a TFTP server on my desktop, load the necessary files onto that server and then point my device there for the update. The thing is, I have never worked with a TFTP server before and don't know how to load the firmware, or how to configure the ATA to pick up the new files when it boots. I imagine this would be fairly simple stuff for a more advanced user, but I really need detailed directions. If you can help me and want a copy of the 3.2 version to use for your own upgrade, I would happily provide an emailed copy in exchange for the assistance. |
