Look at Asterisk (www.trixbox.org). Depending on your final design, you could have a system in under a 1000$. Also check out Nerd Vittles

You didn't say whether you needed VoIP or not.

Given the environment, it sounds like you want an easy to use system.

The TalkSwitch 480vs may meet all of your requirements.

I think I have an optimum solution for you:

Core Packet8 Virtual Office system:
Auto Attendent
Unlimited calling US and Canada ($49.99 per ext)

Included in the $49.99 Unlimited calling plan:

Voice Mail for each extension
Music on hold
Ring Groups
all phones can be dialed with a 3 didget extension
virtual numbers can be used as secondary main numbers
customer ipbx interface, change settings and add more services any time you need.

the base price for the unlimited extension is not the cheapest on the market, but you get a lot of services for the price. There is also a Metered extension for $24.99, and you still get all the features.

You should check it out. Let me know if your interested. I can give you a contact number for a business solutions manager, they can give you a free voip analysis.

Have a good one
