Default faxing with dialup modem through wireless

alright, i know it sounds crazy, but I do not have a home phone line and I have a soft phone set up on my computer, and I need to occasionally receive faxes, is there a way to get my modem to connect to a VoIP (using the wireless) just as a data transmission medium to a external modem? I know there are a lot of different switches and stuff for dialing, but I am not sure how to approach this...

Heres a summary:
  1. VoIP number on laptop
  2. want to use dial up modem to connect to VoIP network using wireless internet
  3. use an external fax machine
Oh yeah I also use X-lite as my softphone

Why not just sign up with e-fax (efax.com) and get a free FAX number (probably in Iowa, but who cares - it;s just a number). They will deliver FAXes to your PC and you can just print them out - or read them. For free, you get some number of pages per month (don't remember how many). After that, they charge.

Some VoIP carriers offer the same thing - Stanaphone was great for that before they stopped accepting new subscribers. I expect that others have a similar deal.
