Default Factory Reset On Vonage ATA 186 - Password Locked?

I've been trying & trying to do a factory reset on my Cisco AT 186 I orignally obtained from Vonage, locked to their (now cancled) service.

The instructions from the Cisco User's Manual says to:

1- Connect analog phone to Line 1
2- Press the Function Key on the 186
3- Key in 322873738 (FACTRESET) on the phone, and then #
4- Press * to confirm
Everytime I after I press # in Step 3, the IVR Voice asks me for a "PASSWRD" . I press the * (and even tried "3", from Broadvoice's instructions), without success.

Vonage could not have password protected the Factory Reset, could they?
ANy help / suggestion much appreciated.

When Vonage owned your 186 they did put a password on the Admin functions, including factory reset. If your account was in good standing when you cancelled it is possible that they will sell you the password for about $15. You are lucky. People with Motorola or Linksys ATAs from Vonage have no chance of getting that password.

The ATA-186 is really not designed for end user configuration in general. At least Sipura lays out all the options in some sort of understandable fashion, the ATA-186 requires a lot of bit-level tweaks to get to function the way you want. I bought an unlocked ATA-186 from iConnectHere last year and since I got my SPA-2000, the ATA-186 almost never got used. Of course, I've gotten a lot of VoIP adapters since then so there are plenty of other things I'd rather use aside from the ATA-186.
