I would like anyone opinion on Mediatrix 1204 ..sip,4 port fxo gateway. Will it interoperate with asterisk easily to do call termination and origination?
Any difficulties?

We have been using this combination for about a year without any trouble. I didn't do the setup, but I don't believe there were any big issues.

Are you really and truly happy with the performance of the Mediatrix FXO box? I've tried several FXO interfaces and been unhappy with all of them...the SPA-3k and TDM400p included. I'm still hoping to find one that I can live with. What quirks do you notice in the Asterisk/Mediatrix pairing?

Any luck? I have outbound calls working fine but I haven't found the magic button to make inbound calls work yet.

I have got most of the unit working. I am still having difficulty with DTMFs and call disconnection for certain incoming calls.

Here is how I got incoming calls set up. Apparently, this setting is not available on the web interface - can only be doe via the Mediatrix Unit Manager(my version Network 3.2 came with the CD)

Here is my unit version info (just to be sure):

Hardware Version: 7
Firmware Version: 5.0.12.76

I started everything with factory default. In the unit manager interface, after "discovering the unit" and configuring certain other parameters, I go to "Telephony Attributes" tab.

Right click on "automatic call" for each line and set it to "enable". (This is like enabling PSTN-to-VoIP Gateway" in SPA3000)
Right click on "automatic call address" and enter the A@H extension for each line. (This is like the DP for PSTN user in SPA3000)

Incoming calls will than go to the designated A@H extension for each line. Of course, this "extension" can be treated as Incoming DID and confifured in A@H.

Hope it works for you and let me know if you find anything about the open issues listed above.
