Hi, Guys. (1) how to reduce the echo of Aastra 57i IP phone ? ( Where to set Echo cancellation ?) (2) Where can I get default manufacturer configuration file of 57i IP phone ? (or how to get the configuration file from the phone, I mean aastra.cfg ) Thanks in advance.

I can get you started on #2. If you mean the default config as it relates to your just-out-of-the-box phone you can login to your phone IP address (once you give your phone an IP or allow it to get one via DHCP) from your browser (admin/22222). Then go to the troubleshooting section and download the server.cfg file. Out of the box I don't think the local.cfg has much if any information in it yet. Once you are in a working environment, the server.cfg file is a combination of both the aastra.cfg and MAC.cfg file that is downloaded to the phone upon started up. The local.cfg files has any changes you've made to the phone via browser or on the handset. Out of the box, the server.cfg has factory defaults. In the real world you'll want your aastra.cfg file to have your preferred "global" settings for phones in your PBX environment. For other suggestions on what others put in their aastra.cfg files you may want to visit nerdvittles website and search for aastra.cfg. Have fun...

I'm not familiar with the 57i's configs, but I know on the 9133is you can alter these settings in the aastra.cfg file (they may be missing). Mess around with the sidetone setting and see if it helps. You'll need to reboot after each change. Code: headset tx gain: 6 # Range -10 db to +10 db headset sidetone gain: -1 # Range -10 db to +10 db handset tx gain: 4 # Range -10 db to +10 db handset sidetone gain: -1 # Range -10 db to +10 db handsfree tx gain: 5 # Range -10 db to +10 db
