Unhappy 5801 Caller ID problem ....any ideas ?

Hi everyone, I have just joined the forum and am a complete noob to the voip concept, so go easy on me.

I decided to start out really easy with a simple home system and take it from there. Due to DSL commitments [1 year contract with AT&T] I cannot disconnect the phone line but decided to reduce service to a minimum measured rate local only line and divert all LD and International calls through a voip system. To do this I bought a Zoom 5801 which has the voip and POTS connection with the idea that all incoming calls and outgoing local calls will be through the landline.

I put all this together and started a voipstunt account and to my surprise it all seemed to work great despite terrible documentation from zoom. However I just noticed that the CID on incoming calls is messed up and all calls say "L2 [linefeed] 2". This is the case on the phone connected to the ATA and on phones connected direct to the POTS line on another outlet. Disconnect the ATA and the incoming CIDs are correct.

Does anyone have an idea what this could be, I sent zoom tech support a email but that may take some time. Also I noticed that half of the menus in the zoom setup are not accessable, do I need a special login for these.

Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated

UPDATE - I just heard back from tech support and Zoom claims this is a firmware error that should be fixed "very soon". However as I am not a Global Village user [Zoom assume you are by default] I dont think I can turn on the auto update feature as I have non access to the firmware + config menu.
Will let the forum know how this goes on from here.

Another Update - OK I figured out the menu [lack of] problem was due to the browser I was using - IE7, after changing to Opera I could access all the menus. The next firmware update should fix the CID problem. The Zoom box works fine for the limited deployment I use it for so I think this is a good, economical solution.

I recently had the same problem with Zoom and UK cable landline provider NTL.
I had a very legthy conversation with Zoom support and problem is now resolved.
Basically, what is required is to ask Zoom for firmware 1.0.12 (or later). This version got its own bugs such as inability to change secondary VoIP accounts (these are still active, you simply can't access it via web interface).

In my case, installing this version AND configuration settings (both downloaded from Global Village) solved the issue. I needed to select Belcore SDMF to get CLID working.
