I believe the config would be the same as the Nokia E61, E70 etc. I'm trying to get broadvoice working with the n95 too, but getting nowehere with their suport. I've managed to get the n95 working with 3 other SIP VoIP services, but just getting nowhere with broadvoice. The config they keep telling me to use includes: "outbound_proxy_server: proxy-nyc.broadvoice.com" but that domain doesnt even appear to exist in their DNS - although their support department insist its valid.. If they cant get that right I wonder what other incorrect setup information they are providing?? Using proxy.nyc.broadvoice.com instead doesnt seem to work either, although at least that domain exists! I'm gonna try the instructions here to go via pbxes http://forum.voxilla.com/broadvoice-...elp-18414.html Last edited by julesn : May 12th, 2007 at 11:22 PM.

I tried to setup a N80 and it was a major pita, but it worked! So like ernests said, go to >tools>settings>connections>sip settings and setup a profile for BroadVoice. Profile name = <something of your choice> Service profile = I chose IETF Default access point = your choice Public user name = <phone>@sip.broadvoice.com Use compression = No Registration = I suppose it's up to you... Use security = No Proxy server a) Proxy server address = proxy.xxx.broadvoice.com b) Realm = BroadWorks c) User name = your phone number d) Your password = your SIP password e) Allow loose routing = Yes f) Transport type = UDP (although I guess Auto works too, I'm just on the safe side) g) Port = 5060 Registrar server a) Proxy server address = proxy.xxx.broadvoice.com b) Realm = BroadWorks c) User name = your phone number d) Your password = your SIP password e) Transport type = UDP (although I guess Auto works too, I'm just on the safe side) f) Port = 5060 Triple make sure that your SIM card is inside the phone. VoIP simply doesn't work without a SIM card. Try restarting your phone after entering all the parameters.

Here are the CORRECT / WORKING / TESTED settings for Broadvoice. Go to tools, settings, connections, sip settings and setup a profile named Broadvoice. Profile Name = Broadvoice Service Profile = IETF Default access point = WiFi or 3g/Edge (not guarantee that will work) Public user name = yourbroadvoicephonenumber@sip.broadvoice.com Use compression = No Registration = It's up to you... Use security = No Proxy server a) Proxy server address = proxy.xxx.broadvoice.com b) Realm = BroadWorks c) User name = your broadvoice phone number d) Your password = your SIP password (must ask broadvoice for it) e) Allow loose routing = Yes f) Transport type = UDP g) Port = 5060 Registrar server a) Proxy server address = sip.broadvoice.com b) Realm = BroadWorks c) User name = your broadvoice phone number d) Your password = your SIP password (must ask broadvoice for it) e) Transport type = UDP f) Port = 5060 I have the above settings working fine with my E61i. Thanks for the original poster for the initial settings. Just had to correct the Registrar setting.

The settings above have been working perfectly for me and my brother we both use Nokia E61i. Make sure you configure exactly like above (including CAPS option where necessary)

Thanks for the information. I am looking forward to trying out these settings as soon as I have WiFi access (might have to wait until this evening at home). For me the big issue was "Realm". The BYOD settings provided to me by Broadvoice did not include "realm," and I had never seen the word "BroadWorks" until I read this thread. I sure hope it works for me.

Well, it still isn't working. I have a Nokia e90. I discovered that when I save my profile, "sip:" is added in front of the public user name so that it ends up as <sip:xxxxxxxxxx@sip.broadvoice.com>. Other than that, my settings are exactly as shown above. But it doesn't register.
