Default Nokia E61 DTMF Tones too long!!

Using a Nokia E61 which is working great for normal sip to sip calls.
I have a sip to pstn gateway at home, I dial into the gateway via sip and get dial tone, I now need to dial the fwd number. Unfortunately this is where it all goes wrong, each digit I press on the Nokia is registered 3 times by the gateway, even if I save the DTMF sequence in a contact and then send it same problem.

This works fine from another phone, it seems the E61 DTMF tones are too long or sent in the wrong format.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

chrizvi,

No I gave up, it seems you need to change the DTMF settings within the Nokia which is apparently possible but not via the user interface, has to be provisioned by the supplier.

Its a while ago now, but its something to do with inband, outband DTMF and the type of codec used.

Let me know if you resolve this, I am about to buy an E71, probably will have the same trouble, but maybe not.
